'We purchased our LE-300 Leading Edge Turbine in April 2014 and couldn’t be happier.

'As I write it is blowing 25 knots and I can hardly hear the LE-300 sitting inside the saloon. It proved easy to install as it had clear instructions, and is so quiet we often have to look up at the blades to see if it is working and we haven’t left the stop/switch on.

'We have lived permanently on-board our 11m Catamaran for over 23 years and are serious blue-water cruisers, and know only too well how frustrating and annoying it is not having an efficient wind turbine that doesn’t give lots of power, and makes you cringe, [and other yachts in the anchorage] when the wind gets up and the unit screams like a banshee.

'We are heavy on 12V power, with fans, lights, laptop computer, TV, 2 x12V fridge/freezers etc, and we found in light winds up to 13-knots, and with partial cloud cover, we still have to run the 240V generator despite having 3 x 80W solar panels.

'We are now further north in the tropics, and in the trade-wind belt and have so much power we have full batteries all of the time now.

'I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this unit to fellow off-shore, and in-shore cruisers for its excellent efficiency, low cost compared to other similar brands, durability and reliability [ they use these units in the extreme weather of Antarctica ] and quietness.

'The team at ‘Leading Edge’ were also a pleasure to deal with, and purchasing the unit from overseas on-line, and using different currency was no problem. Their promise of prompt and efficient after-sales service, if needed, from anywhere in the world was also a big plus in purchasing this great unit.
