Our full specification PowerBox™ is fitted with the innovative Victron Venus GX, which provides full control over your system. The Venus GX is the communication-centre of your installation allowing you to talk to all the components in your system and ensure they are working in harmony.
When connected to the internet via the built-in Ethernet port, or via the optional Wi-Fi receiver or 3G/4G router, live data is transmitted to Victron's proprietary VRM (Victron Remote Management Portal). Logging into the VRM Portal from your laptop or the mobile app, means that you can see exactly how your PowerBox™ is performing (live and historical), receive alarm signals by email and even change system settings remotely.
Within the VRM portal you can monitor the batteries’ state of charge, view power consumption, power output from the solar and power provision from the mains or generator. The portal allows remote user and installer login - from anywhere, at any time.
Customers with applications ranging from powering water level measuring equipment, providing broadband in rural locations to time lapse photography along the A9 in Scotland use remote monitoring to check the performance of their application remotely.
Electrical Tech Gb Limited use the Leading Edge PowerBox™ to provide power for a 4G broadband network to the valley below in Dumfries and Galloway. This kit was helicoptered into position and has a 500VA inverter charger for AC loads, 280Watts of solar panels and our LE-600 horizontal axis wind turbine.
Having remote monitoring capability gave James Aitkin at Electrical Tech Gb peace of mind that enough power was being generated to cover the load. He was able to see how much DC power was going into the batteries and then how much the equipment drew. The battery state of charge (SOC) showed the ‘health’ of the battery in terms of how much charge it has in it.
